This week, I had the privilege of chatting with Thomas McLeod, the Founder and Executive Director of Arkive, a museum "curated by the people."

The team at Arkive is reimagining the museum experience through a more decentralized, democratized, and participatory lens. Their approach includes

🗳 Community-driven decision-making to select curatorial themes
🖼 A collaborative process to determine which works are acquired
🌎 An approach to display those works in a situationally appropriate context, not only in one centralized museum space.

The team has already acquired numerous works, including:

💻 The ENIAC patent
💃 Fans used by Madonna in a "Vogue" performance at the MTV Video Music Awards
🎨 And so much more
